Family Ministry

Family and Children’s Ministry is about encouraging children of all ages to develop a deeper relationship with God, by showing children that they are “fearfully and wonderfully made” by God’s hands with a personal talent or skill that can be used, even at a young age, to glorify God, and us coming along side parents in order to encourage and strengthen the family unit!

Class

Children’s Ministry class begins at 9:00am, takes a small break at 10:00am to enjoy Worship and then heads back to the Children’s Ministry Room to complete the class lesson.

About Me

I am proud to call St. Helens not only my home, but the home of both my grandparents before me. In fact, my paternal grandparents graduated from St. Helens High School in 1949! Just like them, I married my high school sweetheart and 20 years (plus) later we are raising our 4 beautiful children on our family farm. Beyond farming and raising a family, I am the Pastor of Family Ministries at YCF!

Through hard work and dedication, I was able to get my Bachelor’s Degree in child & Family Studies. Even though that goal was completed many years ago, I still consider myself a lifelong learner. Currently, I am enrolled in the Small Church Academy a program that encourages small church leaders to thrive in the environment God placed them in. Eventually, I would love to pursue a Master’s Degree in Education Leadership with a Biblical focus (if you know of such program, please let me know!) Also, on my bucket list is to be a children’s author and to teach until I am 85!

Teaching either at church or the school is my true passion. I love building relationships not only with the students I teach, but also their families. I began leading Children’s Ministry at YCF in 2011 and in the Fall of 2022 accepted the position of Family Ministries Leader. My big dream goal is to teach as many parents as I do students. I would love to build a stronger community, that strives in family relationships where God is the main focus.

November Verse of the Month –

GRACE BOMB

Share Your Grace Bomb Story
WHAT ARE YOU WAITING FOR?
We have not only been called to love one another, in all times, we have also been called to share our stories (testimonies). So let’s shout for Joy & Love, proclaim the truth and share our grace bomb stories!

Deuteronomy 6

Hear, O Israel: The Lord our God, the Lord is one.  Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your strength. These commandments that I give you today are to be on your hearts. Impress them on your children. Talk about them when you sit at home and when you walk along the road, when you lie down and when you get up. Tie them as symbols on your hands and bind them on your foreheads. Write them on the doorframes of your houses and on your gates.

Don’t let anyone think less of you because you are young. Be an example to all believers in what you say, in the way you live, in your love, your faith and your purity.

1 Timothy 4:12
